It’s my first time go to Samosir Island, the Island in the center of Lake Toba in North Sumatera. Before we are going to attend the District & Multi District Convention of Lions Clubs in Medan, it’s best for us traveling to Lake Toba and healing the mood like millennials do.
Samosir Island and Lake Toba are really beautiful. Surrounded by clear fresh water, you can see the fog at dawn and the sun reflects its light on the surface of Lake Toba.
Let me start with the itinerary, taking the flight from Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK) on May 13, 2023 we are heading straight to Kualanamu Airport (KNO). Then we are renting a minibus leaving Kualanamu behind, drinking the famous Lim Kok Thong Coffee in Siantar, we are reaching Prapat City around 5pm.
The next day, we rented a boat to see around Lake Toba. Now, from the water side of Lake Toba, there is a famous waterfall called “Simanurun” that can not be reached by car. Just jump from the boat swimming toward the waterfall, making your body fresh. Then we are heading to Damacus Restaurant using the boat. The food tastes good, you should choose the fresh Nila Fish.
The 3rd day, we are heading to Brastagi. This city are something different, known as vegetables producer in North Sumatera, the air is cool and fresh. Well actually we are hoping that we can find durian there, but unfortunately it’s not the time for durian. So, staying one night in Brastagi, the next day we are going to Medan.
Medan, this 3rd economic biggest city in Indonesia, is a modern city. If you are durian lover, then this city will provide you with many kind of durians. So without no further due, we are going to the biggest durian seller in Medan, and the party begin ha ha..
Well, it’s not only durian party actually. We met the owner, really nice guy, also taking picture with the future First Lady (I hope so), and having a fellowship with other members of Lions Clubs.
May 17, 2023 were our last holiday since the next day, District Convention of Lions Clubs District 307 will start. Well, we can happy attending the convention after such a nice holiday for sure..
